JenJen started to feel hungry.

"Do you notice how there's no food around here?" she asked. "What time is it? Probably lunch time, don't you think?"

"Yeah, where's the food? Everything else is perfect here."

At that moment, the quiet lady from behind the tree walked over. She was beautiful and covered in jewels. The lady was a possum with darkly shadowed eyes, a pale face, and a long, delicate nose. She wore six pretty bracelets on her arms, a gold necklace, and a large emerald ring on her finger. 

"Welcome my children," she said in a gentle voice. "You are welcome here and welcome to enjoy Rainbow. 

"Who are you?" asked Katya. "Where did you come from?"

"Little Katya, I am the Queen of Emeralds and I live forever in Rainbow."

"How did you know my name?" asked Katya. She didn't like that a stranger, even an Emerald Queen stranger, knew her name.

"Sweet little Katya. Don't worry my child. I know everything that is in Rainbow as it is my domain. My creation."

Katya frowned. She didn't like that the Queen of Emeralds knew about her. But when she frowned, her forehead hurt, which had never happened before. So she stopped frowning.

Merkeeta asked all in a rush. "Your Highness, is there homework here or chores to do?"

"Silly Merkeeta, do not be concerned. There's never homework or chores in Rainbow. Everything is beautiful and perfect here. You never have to do anything you do not want to do."

"Hooray!" yelled Kicker. "No homework or tests or chores. I love it here!"

The Emerald Queen held her arms out and a tray with gold bowls appeared.

"Come children," she said. "Come eat my good food as you are my guests."

She put the tray down on the ground and backed away slowly. Then a green mist came over her as she disappeared.
